To understand the why's and how's of the solution 🤓

Problem Statement

With the rise in COVID-19 cases in India, people were too afraid to go out and meet their family and friends. Social gatherings and parties, which were once a regular part of life, became difficult and unsafe. This lack of physical interaction led to feelings of loneliness and a strong need for safe, yet enjoyable, ways to connect with others.

The Objective

Treatsure aims to solve this problem by creating a platform for hosting virtual parties. This solution allows people to stay connected while following safety protocols. Treatsure enables users to order food from multiple restaurants, customize their meals to suit individual preferences and ensure that all food is delivered at the same time to different locations. This makes it easy for everyone to enjoy the party together, no matter where they are.

Stakeholder Analysis

To gain a clear understanding of the project goals and requirements, I conducted interviews with key stakeholders. Despite having a Product Requirement Document (PRD), these interviews helped clarify any uncertainties and provided deeper insights into the project. Here are some key questions asked:

  1. What problem are we aiming to solve?

  2. What are the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)?

  3. What are the short-term and long-term goals of the project?

  4. What research has already been done?

Design Strategy

The design strategy focused on creating a seamless virtual party experience that mimics the fun and connection of in-person gatherings. Key elements of the strategy included:

  • Executive Intent: Enable users to interact with their friends and family virtually and enjoy the same type of food or customized orders. Ensure food delivery from multiple restaurants at the same time for hassle-free virtual parties.

  • Target Audience: Working professionals, students, teenagers, and anyone familiar with technology and the concept of virtual parties.

  • General Tasks: Facilitate virtual parties for various occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and baby showers, with the option to order from multiple restaurants.

  • Technology Constraints: Require a good internet connection and a smartphone or laptop/desktop.

  • Marketing Goals: Increase profits through party packages, leverage social media for user engagement, and improve website SEO through content like blogs and articles.

Competitive Analysis

I conducted a competitive analysis to understand the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competitors. This analysis helped identify opportunities and threats in the market.

User Interviews

Understanding user needs and behaviors was crucial for designing a user-centered solution. I conducted interviews with users who matched our target audience to gather qualitative insights.

  1. How would you describe your day and what is your current profession?

  2. Before the lockdown, how often did you go out with friends or family?

  3. How has the lockdown changed the way you party or gather with others?

Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis

I conducted an online survey across various demographics to observe user behavior and expectations for such a product. Over 70 people responded to the survey.

I also interviewed seven participants from our target audience, conducting video and phone calls.

From the interviews and surveys, I gathered the following insights:

  • People want to party online but miss the experience of having food together.

  • Synchronized food delivery is crucial as everyone’s food often arrives at different times.

  • Non-tech-savvy individuals are unaware of virtual party concepts.

  • Small group gatherings are more enjoyable for most people.

  • Users prefer to plan their own parties and enjoy casual get-togethers at someone’s home.

Define

Defining user goals is like finding out the secret ingredient in grandma's famous recipe—essential for that perfect flavor! 🍰

In this phase, I focused on understanding what our users want to achieve with Treatsure. By identifying their core needs and frustrations, I outlined clear goals to ensure the solution meets their expectations and enhances their virtual party experience.

User Persona

I created two detailed user personas based on our research: Mayuri, a tech-savvy student who loves baking, and Karan, a busy professional passionate about staying productive.

Journey Map

I mapped out the journey of a typical user organizing a virtual party using Treatsure. This journey map highlighted each step, from discovering Treatsure to hosting a successful virtual party.

Empathy Mapping

I created empathy maps to gain deeper insights into users' thoughts and feelings. These maps captured what the users say, think, do, and feel.
